Because of a melody and as well I am curious about the reason why people love this film after 27 years, I watched the film —- Somewhere in time.
When the film ended, some thoughts came to me. They completely filled every corner of my mind. I would rather not call this film a love film. In other words, it isn’t a simple story which tells us some affairs happened between two lovers.
First, it is really an especial love story. It begins with a mistery. It is involved in a philosophy theory —- Time can go backward by control human being’s mind. Whether it works or not, it is obviously a creative idea at least.
Second, the story tells us there is a person being into existance and to appear in one day. This person is the one on earth you want to be with and is the one whom you can’t be without.
Then suddently I have a finding when I make the first point combined with the second point. That is , will the person we are waiting for come from the space we call it ‘future’ ? Or he or she won’t. However,is there a possiblity —-the person perhaps came from the past? Does a time cycle exist? The time cycle is that we Chinese call it ‘轮回‘. We have divided the time into three parts —- past, present and future for millions and billions years since we creatived the concept ‘time’. We even see this division of time as a common rule and observe it ever and forever.
Perhaps this problem have already come up with by philosophists or physists. Solving this kind of problem is their work.
To me, the person whom we are waiting for is the one who will come from future or who came from past, which is just an interesting question. Maybe it will soon disappear without the trace from my mind. Or maybe it will occure to me again at a certain moment one day.
